Since 1997 Torraccia del Piantavigna is family-owned winery making estate bottled wines from its 38 hectares of vineyards in the Alto Piemonte Region of North-West Italy. The main grape varietals grown by the estate are all indigenous, namely Nebbiolo, Vespolina and a white grape variety. The vineyards are located in the DOCG regions of Ghemme and Gattinara and in the DOC in territory known as Colline Novaresi, all in the foothills of Monte Rosa, emblem of the Alps.
The wine production not only strictly adhere to restrictive regulations, is also carried out with great commitment towards the protection of the territory, the community and the environment, an attitude that has earned Torraccia del Piantavigna several awards for the prestigious Eco-friendly award of Vini Buoni d’Italia from the Italian Touring Club authority.
The prestigious Tre Bicchieri award by Gambero Rosso earned by its DOCG wines eleven times in succession, testifies the constant appreciation of the wine critics as well as Torraccia’s commitment to quality. A series of other important international awards such as IWSC and Decanter complete the accolade package.
