SOLO NEBBIOLO represented a selection of Piemonte’s DOC and DOCG labels from Barbaresco and the Alto Piemonte area in front of a mixed audience of trade and public in the Chelsea district in London this past week.

The Wine Show Chelsea event was held for two intense days, hosted in the magnificent late Victorian building Victorian setting of the Chelsea Old Town Hall in the heart of London. The event, held regularly in recent years, had been interrupted due to renovation work on the town hall building which went on for two years.

ONLY NEBBIOLO in collaboration with the distributor Mondial Wine took part in the 2019 edition of the festival as Brand Ambassador for six Nebbiolo estates including: Massimo Clerico with Lessona 2013 DOC Riserva, Roccia Rossa with Bramaterra DOC 2014, Il Chiosso with Gattinara DOCG 2013 Galizja, Gilberto Boniperti with Fara DOC Barton 2016, Cascina Montalbano with Boca DOC 2012 and Ada Nada with Barbaresco Valeirano 2016.

The most common reaction of the public was the dichotomy between pale colour and robust structure found in Nebbiolos, an exclusive combination that is hard to find in high alcohol-low tannins-low acidity wines traditionally available consumed in the UK. The trade professionals have instead shown appreciation for their finesse, elegance and persistence in the various nuances given by the terroirs of the three provinces of Biella, Novara and Vercelli.
